WebDev from PC Soft

When I chose the name WebDev for my blog on Web Development, it seamed like a logical (and lazy) choice to just shorten Web Development to WebDev.

But the other day I stumbled over the PC Soft web site creation CASE tool also called WebDev.

According to PC Soft’s web site…

The WebDev entry on Wikipedia states:

“WebDev is a CASE tool for creating websites, developed by PC SOFT. WebDev is short for Web Development and is mainly used in web design/development.

WebDev refers to a term related to developing of web. Webdev can be about anything including web icons, websites, web blogs, server configuration and web applications. This includes HTML, DHTML, Javascript, C++, CSS and more.”

Overview of CASE

The term Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) can refer to the software used for the automated development of software. The CASE functions include analysis, design, and programming. CASE tools automate methods for designing, documenting, and producing structured computer code in the desired programming language.

CASE can also refer to the methods dedicated to an engineering discipline for the development of information system using automated tools.
